• Wednesday 24th April
  • School Year Group: S1 & S2
  • Venue: Gryffe High School & Castlehead High School

The event will be based on the book Wain, a collection of LGBT themed poems based on re-imaginings of Scottish myths, from the Kelpies to Nessie.   Rachel will read stories and poems from the book and then work with the pupils to create their very own group poem!

Rachel Plummer is an award winning poet, children’s author and creative writing teacher. Their latest book, Wain, is a collection of LGBTQ+ retellings of Scottish folklore published by The Emma Press. They have two new books due to be released in 2024: Once I Carried Three Crows, a collection of poems for grown ups published by Tapsalteerie, and The Big Day, a rhyming picture book published by Little Tiger. They live in Edinburgh with their two children, three guinea pigs, and entirely too many books.
