A lifelong storyteller and daydreamer, Victoria Williamson is a children’s author and teacher. Her previous novels, The Fox Girl and the White Gazelle, and The Boy with the Butterfly Mind were based on her experiences of teaching children with diverse backgrounds and have been shortlisted for a number of awards. Her latest book, Hag Storm, is a spooky historical fiction novel based on the life of the young Robert Burns and his encounters with the witches from his poem Tam o’ Shanter.

Victoria’s session will include reading and interactive activities on the life of Burns, witches and magic, Scots words and storytelling. Explore local Scottish folklore and how communities passed their stories on through oral tradition, and understand how Burns the radical can help us imagine a better, brighter future where everyone is valued equally.
